How To Copy A Course To Make A New Course
Copying course materials into a new course creates a course
in the system and populates it with content from a course already
on the system saving your time when you teach a course again.
Follow these steps below but first click here to see a Step by Step Video on how to copy your course.
Step 1. First remove all users (students) EXCEPT YOURSELF.
To do this, go into the Control Panel, in the User Management section and click
on Remove Users from the course. Click on the
Search button, a list of all users will appear. Check the boxes beside
all of the users EXCEPT YOURSELF. Type in Yes. (use a capital
Y and lowercase es). Click Submit.
Step 2. Go into the Control Panel, in the Course Options section and click on Copy Course.
Step 3. You will then see three
choices. Click Copy Course Materials into a New Course.
Step 4. Under Section #1 - Select a Course.
Enter the Destination Course ID (lowercase letters) for the new course that will be created and populated with content
from the current course. Please make sure that the new Course ID
matches the naming convention used at the Registrar’s office.
Examples of old & new course ID’s: |

econ100-01-fa08 |

span104-0203-sp04
Destination Course ID would be:
span104-0203-fa08 |
Step 5 . Under Section 2, Select Course Materials, put a check in all the boxes.

Step 6. Under Section 3, Enrollments. Be sure to put a check in the box by Enrollments, otherwise you will not be copied as the instructor in the new course.

Step 7. Click Submit.
Wait 1 minute before accessing your new course or wait until you receive the email confirmation that it completed the copy process. You will now see the new course under the
Course's tab.
