Internet Settings

Open the Control Panel and choose Network and Internet Connections.
   
Choose Internet Options.
   

Choose the Connections tab.

 

Make sure Never dial a connection is selected.

 

Click on the LAN Settings... button.
   

Automatically detect settings is the only box that should be checked.

If the others are checked, you will not be able to get onto the network!

Click on OK in both windows to apply these settings, but do not restart your computer yet!

Continue on to Computer Name & Workgroup Settings.
