| Sanyo Projector | Sharp Multiregion (International) DVD/VCR | Sound Control |
To Turn on the Video Projector:
Find the remote for the Sanyo projector (see image above). To turn the
projector on, point the remote at the front of the projector and
push the pink "On-Off" button. Do not adjust the sound volume on
the projector remote; use the sound system control (see below). To turn the projector off,
push the pink "On-Off" button on the remote. At the "Power off?" prompt,
press the pink "On-Off" button again. The projector fan will
continue to run until the unit is cooled down; it will shut down automatically.
To Turn on & View the Podium Computer:
To use the computer, you may need to press the power button on the computer(inside
the cabinet). To project the computer screen, with the projector on, press
the "computer" button on the Sanyo remote until "Computer 1 " is
selected. When you are done with the computer, click the "Start" button
in the lower, left-hand corner of the screen. Then choose "Shut down." If
you need to use a different computer with the projector, please contact Library & Information Services (x1000) for assistance.
To Connect & View a Laptop:
Locate the VGA cable on top of the podium (marked "laptop") and connect to the VGA jack on your computer. To project, press the "computer" button on the Sanyo remote until "computer 2" is selected. You may need to press a key along with "function" on your PC laptop to enable enable external monitor output (this varies with brand, look for "lcd/crt" or a monitor symbol on the key).
If your computer image is cut off on the screen: Press the "Auto PC" button on the Sanyo remote. This should correct the image after a few seconds.
To Play & View a DVD, Videotape, or CD:
Find the remote for the Sharp multiregion (international)
combination CD/DVD/VCR unit. To turn the combination unit on, press
the red "Operate" button on the remote. With the projector on, press
the "video" button on the Sanyo remote to select the video input.
Insert your CD, DVD, or video tape into the appropriate drawer or
slot. There are separate counters and controls for the VCR and CD/DVD.
On the remote, push the "VCR-DVD" switch (at the bottom of the remote:
see image above) to the appropriate media type. VCR control functions
are labeled in orange and DVD functions in green: white-labeled
functions work the same in either mode. To select which media type
the projector displays, press the "DVD/VCR Selector" button in
the upper right of the remote (see image above). While one media
type is playing, you can push the "VCR-DVD" switch to the other media
type and key that media in preparation for viewing. [NOTE: This unit
will play NTSC (US format), PAL, and SECAM media. However, French
SECAM video tapes will only play in black-and-white.] If a cable
TV channel is showing, use the channel down button on the Sharp remote
to select "line 2" to eliminate it.
To View Campus Cable TV: Find the remote for the Sharp combination CD/DVD/VCR unit. To turn the combination unit on, press the red "Operate" button on the remote. With the projector on, use the "video" button on the remote to select your projection source. You can change channels by using the channel ("CH") up and down buttons or by using the keypad to enter the channel number. Turn the unit off by pressing the "Operate" button.
To Control the Sound Level:
You can control the sound for either the computer or the CD/DVD/VCR unit using
the room's sound system. The sound system controller (see image above) is
attached to the desktop. To turn the sound system on, turn the knob
clockwise. You can adjust the sound level by turning the knob clockwise or
counter-clockwise. Be aware. The volume controls on
the computer interact with those of the sound system, so adjusting the volume
on the computer will change the level of sound from the sound system as well.
To turn the sound system off, turn the knob counter-clockwise until
it clicks.
Please, turn off all of the equipment before you leave the room.
Thank you,
The Staff of Library & Information Services
