To Turn on the Video Projector:
Find the remote for the Sanyo projector (see image above).
To turn the projector on, point the remote at the front of the projector and push the pink "On-Off" button. Do not adjust the sound volume on the projector remote;
use the sound system control (see below). Use the
"Computer" or "Video" buttons to select
your source. To turn the projector off, push the pink
"On-Off" button on the remote. At the "Power
off?" prompt, press the pink "On-Off" button
again. The projector fan will continue to run until
the unit is cooled down; it will shut down automatically.
Note: The slide switch at the bottom of the Sanyo
remote must be "on" in order for it to function.
To Turn on & View the Computer:
To use the computer, you may need to press the power button
on the back of the iMac if not already on. With the projector on, press
the "Computer" button on the Sanyo remote to select
"computer 1". For audio, turn on the Sony receiver,
select "Tape 2," and set the volume.
To use a laptop computer
Connect VGA cable in the "well" on the right of instructor podium to
your laptop. On Sanyo remote, press the "computer"
button to select "computer 2".You may need to press
a function key combination on your laptop to enable external
monitor output. These vary by model and are usually denoted
by "LCD/CRT" or monitor icons on the key.
To play video media:
Turn on the projector and press the "video"
button on Sanyo remote. Turn on the Sony
receiver and press the "video" button. Use the volume
knob on Sony receiver to control volume.
This room has two VCRs. Both units will
play media in most worldwide formats. In order to play SECAM
video tapes in color, you must use the top unit. The bottom
unit also plays video DVDs and audio CDs. The switch located
next to these two units controls which is projected. Color
dots are placed on the units as well as the correct switch
position and remote control for each.
Most tapes will begin to play when inserted.
You will need to press "stop" once the tape is inserted
if you do not want this to happen. If you hit "play"
after inserting a tape, it may begin to play at double speed
without sound. If this happens, just press play again to return
to normal speed.
To use the bottom [red dot] unit to play video tapes, DVDs
or CDs:
Press the button marked with a red dot on
the switch beside the unit. Use the Sharp remote with the
red dot to control playback. The switch at the bottom of the
remote must be set to DVD or VHS to control the correct function.
You also need to use the DVD/VCR selector button on the remote
to project the desired media. See illustration above.
To use the top [yellow dot] unit to show a video tape:
Press the button marked with a yellow dot on the
switch beside the unit. use the Sharp remote with the yellow
dot to control playback.
To View Campus Cable TV:
Follow the instructions above for the DVD/VCR (red dot) unit
as for VCR playback using the channel up/down buttons to select
the desired channel. (the top VCR only unit will not tune
cable channels). Please channel down to "L 2" when
done to get rid of the cable TV for the next user.
To use the other audio components:
For the turntable: Press "phono" on the Sony receiver.
For the cassette deck: Press "tape 1" on the Sony
receiver.
To listen to the radio: Press "tuner" on the Sony
Receiver.
Problems with the Sound?:
On the Sony receiver, make sure that the "A" button
is in and the "B" button is out. Check to see if
"Monitor" is selected on the receiver; if it is,
press "Tape 2 Monitor" to turn it off (except when
using the computer sound when it should be on).
Please, turn off all of the equipment before you leave the room.
