Project MUSE Scholarly E-Books
Project MUSE recently began to offer collections of electronic books from scholarly presses, in addition to online journals. The Library has purchased e-book collections in the areas of Global Cultural Studies, Poetry, Fiction & Creative Non-Fiction. When you connect to Project Muse from the Library’s Databases list, you will be presented with the option to view all the full-text content available to Dickinson researchers. We will add individual records for these e-books to our Library catalog soon.

Database search interface changes
Two major database vendor mergers/acquisitions have required changes to some of our database search interfaces. ProQuest purchased CSA and Chadwyck-Healey, so the new ProQuest search interface now applies to: ARTbibliographies Modern (ABM), International Bibliography of Art, PAIS, Sociological Abstracts, and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts.

Also, Ebsco acquired H.W. Wilson, so the Wilson databases interfaces have been changed to EbscoHost. This affects search interfaces for: Applied Science, Art, Business, Education, General Science, Humanities, and Social Sciences Full Text Databases. Also moving to EbscoHost are: Art Index Retrospective; Biological & Agricultural Index; Essay and General Literature Index, and Retrospective; Humanities and Social Sciences Retrospective; and Reader's Guide Full Text, and Retrospective.

Making of the Modern World Searchable in Library Catalog
Records for nearly 60,000 individual documents in the “Making of the Modern World” digital collection database have been added to the Library catalog. This brings the total number of electronic books available in our catalog to over 300,000, or more than a third of our entire cataloged collection.
